Raja Rama Varma

       Our School is the brainchild of the great philanthropist and social worker and a realtor Late Mr. Kadayath Pyli Abraham.He started this school in 1938 with a vision to provide quality education to all sections of the student community with a progressive educational approach to prepare them to face the challenges of the future and become useful citizens of our country, and also stimulates confidence, thought, self-discipline, and the harnessing of creative energies.

      Raja Rama Varma (27/12/1852-1932) was popularly known as Rajarshi. He was an efficient ruler and remarkable reformer of cochin state. He was enthroned as Maharaja on 23-10-1895 and abdicated in 1914. His son Late Rao Sahib I.N.Menon allowed starting an upper primary school at Vadavucode. At that time he was the Director of Public Instructions of Cochin State. The school was given the name of RAJARSHI- who was a multifaceted personality. He was a king among scholars and a scholar among kings. He was a revolutionary in several aspects. The British government had honoured him with titles like KCSI, GCSI and GCIE. He was known as the Ozhinja Valiya Thampuran because he abdicted the throne due to differences with British rulers.

K P ABRAHAM

        The initiator and the founder of Rajarshi Memmorial Higher Secondery School was late sri K P ABRAHAM. He was the first manager of the school and later succeeded by his younger brother Adv. K P Pathrose BA, BL, his daughter Dr:Elizabeth Abraham , daughter -in- low smt.Alice Paul(w/o Mr. K A PAUL - former Head Master till 1989). The ownership of the school was handed overs to Catholicate and M D Schools corporate management by his son Mr. K A PAUL in the year 1989. The first manager under the catholicate management was His Grace Joseph Mar Pachomios. His Grace Thomas Mar Athanasius lead the school till August-2002 and His Grace Paulose Mar Pachomios lead the school till 2009. The present poineer of the school is HIS GRACE MATHEWS MAR THEODOSIUS - Metropolitan of IDUKKI Diocese

     Late Rao Sahib I.N.Menon M.A,BLITT [Oxon] was the key person to upgrade this school as High School in 1945. Later in 2000, the school upgraded to Plus 2 level with science, commerce and humanities batches.  

    The school has always comeout with flying colours regarding the result and co-curricular activities .The school was awarded Rajarshi cup and cochin state shield for the outstanding result in S S L C .The 100 % result enabled us to acquire these valuable rewards

        We are very proud to have the service of many eminent teachers from the very beginning .A few of them are recipienits of National and state awards .The notable among those are late sri M V Mathai , late sri K A Abraham and sri M Thankachan

        Presently 1700 studentes study in classes from 5th to 12th standerds .Now the school has 80 teaching staff and 10 non-teaching staff.
